The Best Level 08 Monsters

Why Hyper-Ancient Shark Megalodon Is A Good Monster Card For Your Deck

There are a lot of strong Level 8 monsters, but Hyper-Ancient Shark Megalodon has one of the best effects a Level 8 monster can have. Hyper-Ancient Shark Megalodon has 2900 ATK and 1300 DEF which is normal for Level 8 monsters, but Hyper-Ancient Shark Megalodon’s effect is what sets it apart from other Level 8 monsters. When Hyper-Ancient Shark Megalodon inflicts battle damage to your opponent, you can destroy 1 monster your opponent controls. With Hyper-Ancient Shark Megalodon, you could destroy 2 monsters if you destroy a monster by battle (that inflicts battle damage if the destroyed monster was in Attack Position), and then Hyper-Ancient Shark Megalodon destroys another monster with its effect. Since Hyper-Ancient Shark Megalodon can easily destroy a lot of your opponent’s monsters, you will easily be able to attack your opponent’s life points directly with your other monsters.

Why Ancient Gear Golem Is A Good Monster Card For Your Deck

Ancient Gear Golem cannot be Special Summoned, but that restriction just shows how good the rest of Ancient Gear Golem’s effect is. If Ancient Gear Golem attacks a Defense Position monster, it inflicts piercing damage to your opponent. With 3000 ATK, Ancient Gear Golem will be able to inflict a lot of damage to your opponent’s life points. A monster with a good effect and a lot of ATK is the prime target for an opponent’s card effect, but when Ancient Gear Golem attacks, your opponent cannot activate any Spell/Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step. When Ancient Gear Golem attacks, only the ATK and DEF values truly matter.

Why Lava Golem Is A Good Monster Card For Your Deck

Lava Golem is a Level 8 monster with 3000 ATK, 2500 DEF, and a twist to it. Lava Golem must be Special Summoned to your opponent’s side of the field by offering 2 monsters on your opponent’s side of the field as a Tribute. Even though Lava Golem is in your Deck, your opponent will be able to use Lava Golem on their side of the field. You get to decide which monsters are Tributed, so feel free to offer your opponent’s best monsters as the Tributes. The main advantage of giving Lava Golem to your opponent is that he/she loses 1000 life points during each of their Standby Phases as long as they control Lava Golem. When you Special Summon Lava Golem, you cannot Normal Summon or Set a monster during the same turn, so make sure you can Special Summon other monsters or have enough monsters to protect yourself from a monster with 3000 ATK. Other then that, Lava Golem will inflict a lot of damage to your opponent and be a nuisance.

Why Photon Caesar Is A Good Monster Card For Your Deck

Photon Caesar is by no means the strongest Level 8 monster, but if you have a Rank 8 XYZ Monster, there is no easier way to get that Rank 8 XYZ Monster on your side of the field. When Photon Caesar is Normal Summoned or Flip Summoned, you can Special Summon another Photon Caesar from your hand or Deck. With Photon Caesar’s effect, you will basically get 2 Level 8 monster both with 2000 ATK and 2800 DEF. While the ATK/DEF values will only get so far, XYZ Summoning a Rank 8 XYZ Monster with a really good effect will be easy to do. If you have Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon on your side of the field as well, you can XYZ Summon Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon which can do a lot of damage to your opponent’s life points.

Why Ultimate Tyranno Is A Good Monster Card For Your Deck

Ultimate Tyranno is an attacking machine. If Ultimate Tyranno is in face-up Attack Position at the beginning of your Battle Phase, it can and must attack first, and all monsters your opponent controls once each. Even if Ultimate Tyranno is equipped with a Trap Card like Spellbinding Circle (which prevents the equipped monster from attacking), Ultimate Tyranno can still attack. Since Ultimate Tyranno can attack all of your opponent’s monsters once each, it will most likely destroy all of your opponent’s monsters with its 3000 ATK or leave 1 monster standing. Then you can attack with all of your other monsters and inflict al to of damage to your opponent’s life points.
