Valkyrian Knight

March 4, 2013

Valkyrian Knight is a Level 4 monster with 1900 ATK and 1200 DEF that has a really good effect that only works if you have a Deck filled with Warrior-Type monsters. Valkyrian Knight is the only Warrior-Type monster that can be selected as an attack target on your side of the field. This allows your weaker Warrior-Type monsters to hide behind Valkyrian Knight, and if you want a good combo, you could Normal Summon Marauding Captain and then Special Summon Valkyrian Knight with Marauding Captain’s effect. With those 2 Warrior-Type monsters on your side of the field, your opponent wouldn’t be able to attack any of your Warrior-Type monsters. Since Valkyrian Knight is the only Warrior-Type monster your opponent can attack, this card may eventually be destroyed by battle. When Valkyrian Knight is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can banish this card and 1 Warrior-Type monster from your Graveyard to Special Summon 1 Level 5 Warrior-Type monster from your Graveyard. There are a lot of Warrior-Type monsters that are Level 5 or higher, have really good effects, and have high ATK and DEF points. Kuraz The Light Monarch, Junk Warrior, Elemental Hero Fusion Monsters, and Gilford The Lightning are just some of the many Warrior-Type monsters that are Level 5 and higher, have a lot of ATK and DEF, and have great effects. With Valkyrian Knight, Special Summoning those monsters becomes much easier, and if you have a card effect that requires for you to discard a card(s) from your hand, you discard a Level 5 or higher Warrior-Type monster knowing that the monster you discard could find its way to your side of the field with the help of Valkyrian Knight.
