Photon Caesar

October 2, 2012

Can you imagine playing Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon in 1 turn? With Photon Caesar, that is very possible (especially if you have Illusory Snatcher in your hand too).

Photon Caesar is a Level 8 monster with 2000 ATK and 2800 DEF which means Photon Caesar will be in Defense Position more than it will be in Attack Position. The effect of Photon Caesar is what makes it a very good card. When Photon Caesar is Normal or Flip Summoned, you can Special Summon another Photon Caesar from your hand or Deck. This might just seem like one of those moves where you get a lot of attack power that costs you too much while you could be getting better quality (2 monsters for 2 monsters with 2000 ATK, but 2 monsters for 1 monster with 3000 ATK is better). However, we’re talking about a time where XYZ Monsters are in nearly every duelist’s Extra Deck. When cards like Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, many duelists (yes, including myself) had a tough time getting the right cards together to XYZ Summon the powerful Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. Just a couple of months ago, the thought of XYZ Summoning Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon seemed nearly impossible. With Photon Caesar, you already have 2 Level 8 monsters, and with Illusory Snatcher (3rd post before this one), you can get 3 Level 8 monsters on your side of the field on the same turn which allows you to XYZ Summon Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon in 1 turn!

Summing It Up

If I had a choice between either having 2 monsters on my side of the field with 2000 ATK and 2800 DEF or having a monster with 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF, I would prefer the monster with 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF since it is stronger and can inflict a lot of damage. However, Photon Caesar allows you to Special Summon another Photon Caesar on the same turn it is Normal Summoned or Flip Summoned. These 2 monsters may be weaker than the monster with 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF, but Photon Caesar can allow you to easily XYZ Summon a Rank 8 XYZ Monster, and with Illusory Snatcher, you can also XYZ Summon Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon in 1 turn! Don’t miss out on one of the best cards in the game.
