Number 16: Shock Master (9/06/12 Card of the Day)

September 6, 2012

Number 16: Shock Master will wipe out any fear of card effects. If your opponent has a Deck build for card effects, then you can use Number 16: Shock Master to stop your opponent.

Number 16: Shock Master is a Rank 4 XYZ Monster with 2300 ATK and 1600 DEF that requires 3 Level 4 monsters as the XYZ Materials. While the ATK and DEF of this card are less than Number 39: Utopia, a Rank 4 XYZ Monster that only requires 2 Level 4 monsters as the XYZ Materials, Number 16: Shock Master has a unique effect. Once per turn, you can detach 1 XYZ Material from this card. When you detach the XYZ Material, you can declare a card type (Monster, Spell, or Trap). If you declare Spell or Trap Card, the declared card type cannot be activated. If you declare Trap Cards, your opponent cannot activate that devastating Trap Card. If you declare Monster, then Monster Cards cannot use their effects. These effects last until the end of your opponent’s next turn.

Summing It Up

Number 16: Shock Master isn’t as strong as other XYZ Monsters with less requirements, but Number 16: Shock Master can negate the activation of any Spell or Trap Card as well as any Monster’s Effect until the end of your opponent’s next turn at the cost of an XYZ Material. Number 16: Shock Master is a great XYZ Monster to have in your Extra Deck.
