Rainbow Dragon VS Rainbow Dark Dragon

November 30, 2011

Effect value will be a new category for the VS posts.

Rainbow Dragon

Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by having 7 Crystal Beast monsters with different names on your field and/or in your Graveyard. You can activate these effects during either player’s turn:

You can send all Crystal Beast monsters you control to the Graveyard to make this card gain 1000 ATK for each card sent to the Graveyard by this effect.

You can remove from play all Crystal Beast monsters in your Graveyard to send all cards from the field to the owners’ Deck.

Uncommon effect: 9/10

Effect Value: 9/10

Usefulness for appropriate Deck: 9/10

Easy to Summon: 5/10

Total Value: 32/40

Rainbow Dark Dragon

Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing from play 7 DARK Monsters in your Graveyard. You can remove from play all DARK monsters from your field/Graveyard to have this card gain 500 ATK for each DARK Monster removed from play with this effect.

Uncommon Effect: 8/10

Effect Value: 7/10

Usefulness for appropriate Deck: 8/10

Easy to Summon: 4/10

Total Value: 27/40

The values of the two cards are somewhat low, but these two cards are very good. They are not at all easy to Summon, accounting for a loss in points. If you used the Spell Card, A Painful Choice to deplete your Deck of DARK/Crystal Beast monsters depending on the dragon, then they will be easier to Summon, increasing their value in your Deck. Also, their value would increase if they were both put in the same Deck. 7 Crystal Beasts and 8 DARK monsters (all Level Four or lower) would be the perfect fit for a Deck at exactly 15 Level Four or lower monsters. With these cards in your Deck together, the value of the two cards will each be over 32/40
